The amazing underground world of Slovenia
Thousands of tourists from all over the world come to Slovenia every year to see the underground world. We like to compare it with the Ementaler cheese, as there are more than 10,000 registered caves spread over the entire region. 25 of them is possible to visit and see a mysterious world hidden from the sun, with animals you probably never heard of.
Postojna cave is the most visited of them all. It is actually the most visited cave in Europe. During the visit you get to experience a thrilling open-air electric train ride, that helps you explore a part of the 21-kilometer long cave system. After the train stops, an hour-long walking tour begins. Part of the tour is also a visit of the so-called Concert Hall, an underground chamber with unique acoustical values, that can hold events with up to 10,000 pax.
About 30 minutes away from Postojna are Skocjan caves, another amazing cave system. They are one of the largest underground canyons in the world. Lonely Planet listed them as one of the top 10 attractions in Eastern Europe.
If you want, we can take you to a private underground adventure. In caving overalls and with a miner’s lamp on your head, accompanied by experienced guides, you will set out into dark and mysterious tunnels and galleries. Excitement and fun, awaits you here in Slovenia.
