DMC Montenegro: This is a paradise for winter tourism

Kolasin (Montenegro), a paradise for winter tourism by DMC Montenegro

Montenegro is a year round destination, with mountainous highlands and Mediterranean coasts within kilometres of each other. About a one-hour drive away from Podgorica, the capital,  you can find Kolasin (also called “intact Switzerland”), a leading destination for highland tourism and DMC Montenegro. With crisp air filled with the aroma of pine trees, the untouched snow and stream banks caught by ice, it is a flawless eco friendly rarity.

The facilities for winter sports in Kolasin are constantly being built and improved. Numerous ski trails are maintained to the high standards. Ski trails start from 1,420 m of an altitude and they ascent all the way up to 1,930 m, in a total length of 30 km.

All ski trails are situated on the northern parts of the slopes, which is why the snow can be there even at the start of summer. Beside skiing it is also possible to organise other winter incentive pleasures like snowshoes hiking, snowmobile, winter rafting, winter photo adventures, Nordic skiing, winter climbing and incentive competitions such as building snow sculptures, and the like. Exciting snowmobile tours are definitely one of the most interesting and fun activities as many European countries have already banned it in national parks, but in Montenegro this thrilling incentive activity is still allowed. All this being said, DMC Montenegro is the perfect destination for your next incentive.

The accommodation and delicious food only add to the incentive experience in DMC Montenegro. Rich menus of home prepared meals, and a variety of meat and dairy products grant the ideal energy recharge for the visitors, while local grappa will always keep you warm.

But most of all, Montenegro is the perfect country if you are looking for a rich culture experience.

Tell us about your interests and passions and let a local DMC organise your next meeting, incentive, congress or event in Montenegro.
